INDIA’s Greenlam Asia Pacifi Pte Ltd aims to be a market leader in the supply of environmentally friendly high-pressure laminates in Malaysia by 2012.

Its managing director Saurabh Mittal says Malaysia is a key market for Greenlam as reflected in the double-digit revenue growth achieved by the company since it set up a shop here in 2005.

“Our growth reflects the situation in the building industry here. More developers are using our products not only for its quality, but also for environmental friendly purposes,” Saurabh said in an interview with Business Times.
Greenlam is a manufacturer of high-pressure laminates for the interior design industry. Its products range from classic wood-grain finishes to the latest metallic and leather designs.

Saurabh said the high-pressure laminate market in Malaysia is growing considerably, with increasing awareness of environment issues and the growing desire to live and work in a healthier environment.

He said more architects, designers and building specifiers are showing a greater preference for eco-friendly laminates than they did  a few years ago.

“Greenlam’s growth is accelerating in line with demand. But competition is stiffer with many players in the market,”” he said.
